Christmas 2010

Wow, I can't believe Christmas has come and gone. It is true what they say, time goes by so much more faster the older you get. We had a very nice Christmas spent with family and seeing friends. Christmas Eve Denise and her family came over and spent the day. I made a ham with all the fixings. Very yummy. We opened presents after dinner. After that everyone went home and my family headed to Christmas Eve service. I love going and being able to focus for a while on the real meaning of what we are celebrating, Jesus. Wonderful service. The boys were anxious to get home and get to bed. They put out cookies and milk and some carrots, for the reindeer. The took forever to finally fall asleep. Both boys were up at 4am and got there stockings and watches some tv until we got up at 6:45 to open presents. Both were so excited for to open presents and loved everything. Especially Connor who got a DS. He played it all day long. He has been wanting one for a while now so Shannon and I decided to get him one this year. After presents we had cinnamon rolls and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. This is something we have done ever since Connor was very little. Both boys love it. This year Ryan didn't want to sing he says he was to shy. They both like to blow out the candle. I love doing this, it has become one of my most favorite traditions at Christmas. After that we just stayed at home and hung out. Very quiet day. Nice and relaxing. Here are some pics from our day. I forgot to take pics from Christmas Eve.

Gingerbread Train

The other day the boys really wanted to do a gingerbread house but they saw the train and decided they wanted that one instead. So today I finally sat down with them to put it together.
It was fun and the boys loved putting on all the candy. Here are some pics from our fun time.

Finding the perfect Christmas tree and decorating

The day after Thanksgiving we went out to Greenbluff to find our Christmas tree. It was snowy and cold but we had so much fun hunting for our tree. We walked around for what seemed like forever but we finally found it! The next day we decorated it. Connor was totally into putting the ornaments on but it took Ryan a while to decide he wanted to help. They did a great job and it turned out cute. It is now really feeling like Christmas. I have music playing and all the lights turned on. It really helps that there is a ton of snow outside to really set the mood.

Don't take my picture mom!

We found it! Daddy cutting it down, the boys supervising.

Dragging it to the car

All loaded up for the ride home.

Finally got Ryan to help out!

Ryan got to put the star on top

I had to do a lot of pleading to get Ryan to pose for this picture.

As you can see we had a lot of fun. For some reason Ryan has been a little turkey about having his picture taken. I did a lot of pleading to get him to pose for some of these pics.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a very nice day today. We went over to Denise's in-laws and had dinner and some great company. All the kids bundled up and went sledding. There is a ton of snow and it has been snowing all day and doesn't look to be stopping any time soon. The kids had so much fun sledding and playing in the snow. After sledding they came in and we ate some very yummy food. After we had all had our fill the kiddos went and played the wii. It was a very nice day with lots of laughs and good memories.

While I was outside watching the kiddos sled I decided to take some shots of the beautiful surroundings . The trees where heavy with snow and there was a tree that had some red berries and snow and they were all so beautiful. I just had to stop and enjoy it all.

Tomorrow we are going to go get our Christmas tree and decorate for Christmas. I am looking forward to the Holidays this year.

Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween. The weather was mild so we didn't freeze when we went trick-or-treating. For dinner I made mummy dogs. They were fun to make and fun to eat. The boys decided they wanted to dress up as superman and iron man. They looked cute. Here are some pics from our night.

This Saturday was Connor's last soccer game for the Fall. He will play again in the Spring with the same team. He has had a lot of fun and improved so much. He really likes playing. He says his favorite position is defense (it is probably because he doesn't have to run all over the field!). Denise and her family came out to watch him play.

Greenbluff

We made our annual trip up to Greenbluff. The weather was chilly and a little rainy but all and all not a bad day. The boys played in the hay maze. We had lunch, chili for me, pulled pork and beef for Shannon and the boys. The boys wanted to get their faces painted and Connor chose a tiger. We asked Ryan what he wanted and he said he wanted to be what his brother was. That is so typical of him. He always wants to do and have whatever Connor is having or doing. It totally drives Connor bonkers! The boys played in the hay maze some more while I stood in line for pumpkin doughnuts. They are so yummy!! We have to have them every year. We didn't get a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch there because they were so expensive. We ended up getting them at the grocery store. After we got home we (meaning me) carved the pumpkins. The boys had fun taking all the guts out. On Halloween Shannon will take the boys trick-or-treating. Hopefully it won't be snowing then.
Here are some pics from our day:

Tune in next week for some super cute super heros!!

Soccer

Connor is playing soccer for the 2nd time. He really loves playing. It is usually the first sport he wants to play then softball. He had a game on Saturday and it is fun to watch these boys run all over the field. They all have a great time you can tell. The boys did very well since it was pretty hot out. Here are a few shots of our soccer star!

Fun at the Fair

We went to the Spokane Interstate Fair last night and had so much fun. We ate some good fair food. Corn dogs, elephant ears, cotton candy and shaved ice. Connor decided to do the tractor pull for the first time and had fun. All the kids got a ribbon at the end even if they didn't come in first. Ryan was very sad he couldn't do it also but you had to be 4. They felt bad for him so they let him ride on one. He even got a ribbon. He was thrilled! After that we let the boys go on the rides. They had so much fun. This was the first time we have gone to the fair since Ryan was 2 weeks old. They both loved all the rides and rode them tons. It was getting cold so we decided to go walk around in some of buildings for a while. When we warmed up we rode some more rides and then headed home. We also stopped to see horses, goats and some sheep. I think next year we will be heading back.

1st day of school

Today Connor started the 3rd grade. I can't believe it! Where has the time gone. He was so excited this year to start school. He is going to a new school this year and I thought he would be a little nervous but he seemed really excited this morning. When I picked him up after school he told me he had a great day. He made a new friend and really likes his new teacher. So here is to the start of a new year. I hope it goes smoothly and Connor has a lot of fun and learns alot.

The End of Summer

So it is the end of summer and school starts this Wednesday. I can't believe it! Where did it go? Connor starts his new school and is going into the 3rd grade. So crazy! Ryan turned 3 last week. We had a fun time at the party. He was so excited to have a birthday. He has been talking about it for weeks. I ended up having everyone over for a BBQ and I made cupcakes for him. He loved it all. He is a very active little guy and is willing to try just about anything. He has such an easygoing, funny personality. Connor is just as active but he tends to be a little more reserved and serious. (very much like his father)
Here are some pics from the party:

Other than having a quiet summer, we have been doing well. I am going to dialysis 3x a week and that is going well. We are finally in a routine that is working well for us. Shannon just finished a movie and is busy working on cars to fill in until the next one starts in a few weeks. MOPS has started for the year and we have our first meeting this Friday. Connor will be starting soccer in a couple of weeks and has his first game on the 18th. He is very excited. Shannon and I will celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary on the 19th of September. Wow! I can't believe I have been married for so long. I am looking forward to having a very busy year.
Even though we haven't really done a lot we have had a good time. I love to spend time with my boys. The are so awesome!!
Here are some pics from over the summer:

Now onto Fall and all the fun stuff that goes along with that. We always go to the pumpkin patch and to Manito Park for a photo shoot. I love Fall and all that goes along with it!
