Busy week

We have had a very busy week. On Sunday we got Ryan a toddler bed. Shannon took down the crib for the very last time. As he was working on it I was thinking about how excited we were to be putting it up for the very first time when we were pregnant with Connor. I never expected to ever have a baby and by the Grace of God he blessed us with this sweet boy. Then I was thinking that we would never use the crib again. Very bittersweet, however I am enjoying watching Ryan grow and get bigger. Here are a couple pics of the big boy in his new bed:

The only problem we have is he doesn't like his new bed, so we have been having alot of sleeping issues this week. Needless to say we are both tired. We are hoping he gets used to it soon!!
On Monday I started my Christmas baking. I baked all kinds of fun cookies. I made; gingerbread men, dark chocolate, mint and white chocolate cookies, molasses cookies, peanut bloosoms, kifflings (Russian tea cakes), and turtle pretzels. My Kitchen Aid got a workout!! I LOVE it!! It was so wonderful especially when I didn't need to stir all that batter by hand. Did I say I LOVE my Kitchen Aid , I do!!!

Both boys were helpers also! That was fun. I am telling you, my kitchen is so small that it was a challenge to get all 3 of us in there. Connor decorated some of the gingerbread men on his own and had fun doing that. I actually love it when the boys want to help bake or cook. I believe a man should know how to cook something other than boxed food. Maybe one day their wives will thank me! Here a some pics of my helpers and of Connors gingerbread men.

Tomorrow we are going to my niece's 16th birthday party and I am doing her cake. Her theme is candy so I am making a candy land theme cake. I will post some pictures when it is all done. I am excited to be able to make it for her. I hope it turns out cute!!

On the potty train!

We have kind of been working on getting Ryan to go potty in his little frog. (I got this cute potty frog chair at walmart) For the last month of so he has been sitting on it and pretending to go. The other night I asked if he needed to go poop (sorry for being so descriptive) he said yeah and he took his pants and diaper off and sat and actually went poop in the potty!!!! Yeah Ryan!! we were so excited. I have been working a little with him everyday, yesterday he went poop and pee in the potty. Today I have him in pull ups and he has gone pee pee in the potty already. I think we may be on the way. I am in now way pushing him but he seems interested a little so I thought I would try. Connor was 4 before he showed any interest. It's all a little bittersweet knowing he is no longer my baby and there are no more babies on the way. I am trying to not rush this to fast. I do have to say I am tired of wiping rear ends!!

Showing off his new big boy underpants!! He is so proud of himself.

My new kitchen helper.

Ryan is totally into helping me in the kitchen. I was making dinner the other night and he was helping me cook. I took this really cute pic of him helping me. He was also eating a brownie while stirring the mushrooms. How cute is he?!

Life is busy!

Our pumpkin that I carved.

My fireman and my little Kangaroo!

Life is crazy around here with the boys. Connor is doing really well in school. We just had his conference and he got a very good report. He is right were he should be. The only problems we are having with him is he has a hard time focusing on the task at hand. I took him to see the Dr. and he thinks he may have ADD. I have always thought he may but I figured maybe he would grow out of it. I also wasn't wanting to medicate him. After a talk with his teacher at the being of the year, she was very concerned and suggested I take him to the Dr to be evaluated. We are still in the process of getting some things together from the school side but I am looking forward to moving on and see if we can be successful. I don't want him to fall behind as he gets older so we will probably medicate as long as my son isn't a zombie but can function better. Ryan is getting big. I forget he is two because he can talk to well. He is putting complete sentences together. Is is very busy and active and always looking for something to get into. He has a very laid back, funny personality. He is such a joy!! We adore both boys and are enjoying all the phases they are in. It is exciting to see how much they change and grow.
We are doing well. Shannon is home right now looking for a full time job. He is still working on movies doing driving but there isn't a moving starting again until at least February. We would love for him to find a full time job with decent pay and benefits. We are wanting to get into our own place again buy the summer. As far as insurance goes, I need to find some insurance or a lot of cash ($30,000) to be able to pay for my hysterectomy. In September, I had some bleeding issues and lost a lot of blood and needed to have emergency surgery to save my life!! I am very blessed and thankful for the care I received from the Hospital and my OB/GYN. My OB/GYN did inform me that it is imperative I have the surgery because the same thing will happen again. I would ask for prayer for the funds needed. You are welcome to share my prayer request with you prayer group. In fact I would appreciate it. Even with all this, I feel that God is watching over me and keeping me healthy and safe. I am very much at peace with this whole thing. I am frustrated but at peace.
We are gearing up for Christmas here and having gotten up the tree. The boys had a lot of fun putting the ornaments on the tree. They are both so excited for Christmas. Connor has a list as long as his brother. I have told him he isn't going to get everything, I mean seriously, he isn't going to get an hp mini laptop. He is only 7 after all!! Ryan thinks everytime he sees any man with a beard he is either Santa or his Papa!!
I think that gets you all caught up with life at the Freeman household. We covet prayers for a job and $$ for my surgery.
