Busy week

We have had a very busy week. On Sunday we got Ryan a toddler bed. Shannon took down the crib for the very last time. As he was working on it I was thinking about how excited we were to be putting it up for the very first time when we were pregnant with Connor. I never expected to ever have a baby and by the Grace of God he blessed us with this sweet boy. Then I was thinking that we would never use the crib again. Very bittersweet, however I am enjoying watching Ryan grow and get bigger. Here are a couple pics of the big boy in his new bed:

The only problem we have is he doesn't like his new bed, so we have been having alot of sleeping issues this week. Needless to say we are both tired. We are hoping he gets used to it soon!!
On Monday I started my Christmas baking. I baked all kinds of fun cookies. I made; gingerbread men, dark chocolate, mint and white chocolate cookies, molasses cookies, peanut bloosoms, kifflings (Russian tea cakes), and turtle pretzels. My Kitchen Aid got a workout!! I LOVE it!! It was so wonderful especially when I didn't need to stir all that batter by hand. Did I say I LOVE my Kitchen Aid , I do!!!

Both boys were helpers also! That was fun. I am telling you, my kitchen is so small that it was a challenge to get all 3 of us in there. Connor decorated some of the gingerbread men on his own and had fun doing that. I actually love it when the boys want to help bake or cook. I believe a man should know how to cook something other than boxed food. Maybe one day their wives will thank me! Here a some pics of my helpers and of Connors gingerbread men.

Tomorrow we are going to my niece's 16th birthday party and I am doing her cake. Her theme is candy so I am making a candy land theme cake. I will post some pictures when it is all done. I am excited to be able to make it for her. I hope it turns out cute!!

On the potty train!

We have kind of been working on getting Ryan to go potty in his little frog. (I got this cute potty frog chair at walmart) For the last month of so he has been sitting on it and pretending to go. The other night I asked if he needed to go poop (sorry for being so descriptive) he said yeah and he took his pants and diaper off and sat and actually went poop in the potty!!!! Yeah Ryan!! we were so excited. I have been working a little with him everyday, yesterday he went poop and pee in the potty. Today I have him in pull ups and he has gone pee pee in the potty already. I think we may be on the way. I am in now way pushing him but he seems interested a little so I thought I would try. Connor was 4 before he showed any interest. It's all a little bittersweet knowing he is no longer my baby and there are no more babies on the way. I am trying to not rush this to fast. I do have to say I am tired of wiping rear ends!!

Showing off his new big boy underpants!! He is so proud of himself.

My new kitchen helper.

Ryan is totally into helping me in the kitchen. I was making dinner the other night and he was helping me cook. I took this really cute pic of him helping me. He was also eating a brownie while stirring the mushrooms. How cute is he?!

Life is busy!

Our pumpkin that I carved.

My fireman and my little Kangaroo!

Life is crazy around here with the boys. Connor is doing really well in school. We just had his conference and he got a very good report. He is right were he should be. The only problems we are having with him is he has a hard time focusing on the task at hand. I took him to see the Dr. and he thinks he may have ADD. I have always thought he may but I figured maybe he would grow out of it. I also wasn't wanting to medicate him. After a talk with his teacher at the being of the year, she was very concerned and suggested I take him to the Dr to be evaluated. We are still in the process of getting some things together from the school side but I am looking forward to moving on and see if we can be successful. I don't want him to fall behind as he gets older so we will probably medicate as long as my son isn't a zombie but can function better. Ryan is getting big. I forget he is two because he can talk to well. He is putting complete sentences together. Is is very busy and active and always looking for something to get into. He has a very laid back, funny personality. He is such a joy!! We adore both boys and are enjoying all the phases they are in. It is exciting to see how much they change and grow.
We are doing well. Shannon is home right now looking for a full time job. He is still working on movies doing driving but there isn't a moving starting again until at least February. We would love for him to find a full time job with decent pay and benefits. We are wanting to get into our own place again buy the summer. As far as insurance goes, I need to find some insurance or a lot of cash ($30,000) to be able to pay for my hysterectomy. In September, I had some bleeding issues and lost a lot of blood and needed to have emergency surgery to save my life!! I am very blessed and thankful for the care I received from the Hospital and my OB/GYN. My OB/GYN did inform me that it is imperative I have the surgery because the same thing will happen again. I would ask for prayer for the funds needed. You are welcome to share my prayer request with you prayer group. In fact I would appreciate it. Even with all this, I feel that God is watching over me and keeping me healthy and safe. I am very much at peace with this whole thing. I am frustrated but at peace.
We are gearing up for Christmas here and having gotten up the tree. The boys had a lot of fun putting the ornaments on the tree. They are both so excited for Christmas. Connor has a list as long as his brother. I have told him he isn't going to get everything, I mean seriously, he isn't going to get an hp mini laptop. He is only 7 after all!! Ryan thinks everytime he sees any man with a beard he is either Santa or his Papa!!
I think that gets you all caught up with life at the Freeman household. We covet prayers for a job and $$ for my surgery.

Update

I thought I would get an update out. I haven't written anything since the end of February and a lot has gone on. Lets see...... Connor was in the pinewood derby with his boyscouts den. He and Shannon built a car and it was really cool. He won an award for having the most patriotic car.
This is them with the car and his medal. Connor was so proud of his car!

Connor's Birthday was Friday. He turned 7yrs. I can't believe it!! He has gotten so big. He is tall and thin. Built like his dad (thankfully!) He is quick as a whip but has a temper to go along with it. We took him out to dinner on Friday and then went to Good Friday service. Last night he had his party at Chuck E Cheese. He invited his whole class (21 kids!) but only 2 came. It was fun and they all had a really good time.

Connor with his Transformer cake

His two friends who came to his party. Very nice girls!

Easter was nice even though the weather was rainy. We went to Easter service and celebrated and then went to lunch. We had a nice dinner later of ham and all the fixings. It was really good. Thanks Mom!
Ryan is also getting big. He is trying to say so many new words and likes to copy everyone. He is very busy just like his brother. He and his brother get along pretty well for the most part. Connor has some problems sharing at times. They like to wrestle and of course they love to play with there Dad.

Connor reading to his brother. Isn't this so sweet!

This is Ryan being silly. He put on his Daddy's hat. Isn't this face cute!!!

That is what has been going on with us lately. We are enjoying every day with our boys and watching them grow up way to fast.

It is the end of February. Where has the time gone. We have been fighting colds here for several weeks now. It has been rainy the last couple of days and my sweet, cute Ryan has now entered the terrible twos!! I can't believe my sweet baby can act the way he does. He hits and throws things and will throw himself on the floor and pitch a fit! Hopefully it will enter and exit this faze fast!!!
We are definitely ready for Spring to arrive. I am tired of looking at all this dirty snow! Time for some warm sun, tulips and open windows at night. Raise your hands if you are with me.
Jetting off now to go get Connor at school and take him to the Boy Scout store to get some stuff for his Derby car.
Have a great day everyone!

It has been a while so I thought I had better get an update on here. The boys are both doing well. We have managed to stay out of the ER! Yeah! Ryan is getting big and he is trying to talk. He says, Mommy, Dada, Hi, Bye. He knows what sound a puppy makes and a kitty. Very cute. He will be talking in no time, I just know it. So I have lots of pics of the boys I want to share. I gave Ryan a pudding the other day and he enjoyed it very much. He was a mess. Last night I was having a bonding moment with Connor, we were in the kitchen and I was showing him how to take the stems out of mushrooms and then I taught him how to cut them up. He loved it and so did I. When we went in to the dining room we noticed that Ryan had gotten into what was left of Connor's PB&J and he had managed to smear it all over himself and Connor's homework. It was so funny. I was wondering why he was so quiet!! The little stinker gets into all kinds of stuff if I don't keep an eye on him!! :-) As you can see from the pics Connor was not happy with his brother at all!!

How could you not love that chocolate face!

Messy little guy!

Connor is not happy about this!!

It was me, I did it!

What a mess!!

God's Masterpiece

The sunset was absolutely beautiful last night. I tried to capture it the best I could with my camera. They are a little dark but you get the idea. I have also posted a few snow pics of Connor and a couple pics of the boys. It is a bit picture heavy but I think they are worth looking at.

Today is sunny and so nice! It is supposed to not rain or snow for the next week. I am so glad. A lot of the snow has melted and you can get around again. You have to watch for water puddles and potholes. Connor is back in school again. They went back yesterday. We were both ready for him to go back. He said he was glad he went back and had a great day. He loves to go to school most of the time! So now we are hoping for no more snow days and nice weather for a while. I don't mind the snow but we had a ton! I am of course ready for spring. I love it when it is starting to warm up and you can start to sleep with your window open. I love that! Only a couple of months till spring, Yeah!

Rainy now!

It has finally stopped snowing. The downside to that is it has warmed up and been rainy. Needless to say it is very slushy and messy. Connor has been out of school now for 3 weeks. I am hoping they go back tomorrow or someone may find him in the mail. Any takers? :-) Just kidding.

More snow!!!

It is still snowing here. Well, I think it is taking a break for a few minutes. This weather is crazy. It is so bad they have kept the kids out of school an extra day. I think I may go nuts! Please let them go back tomorrow!! I am so ready for spring!! I will post some pictures of all this snow when I get a chance.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it is 2009! Where has the time gone. We are still getting snow here. I have to admit I am ready for it to start melting a little. It is very beautiful but we have 56+ inches here already. It is also snowing again today. Will it never end!!
We had a very nice, quiet Christmas. Denise and her family came over for Christmas eve and we had dinner and opened presents. On Christmas morning we opened presents and then we had cinnamon rolls and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. We have done that every year since we have had Connor. He loves to sing and blow out the candles. Then we pretty much just hung out the rest of the day. Connor and Ryan both got new bikes and Connor tried his out in the snow. It does very well and he loves it! Ryan got a spiderman bike and he loves it!! He sat on it all day and pushed all the buttons. I will post some pictures later.
We want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. May you be blessed in this new year. We love you all!
